As a lot of you may well have found, there are a huge range of books on IBS out there that claim to be able to give you all the answers you may need to help your IBS. Some are very good, some have some interesting parts to them but should be treated with an open mind, and some are absolute drivel. I’ve read many books that fit into all of the above categories so what I can hopefully do is point you in the direction of the ones that are worthwhile reading.

Irritable Bowel Solutions by Prof. John Hunter
This book is an excellent read for people who are starting their journey into managing their IBS. It’s a very comprehensive but easy to follow guide to all of the key aspects to IBS. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who suffers from IBS.
Medical jargon is only used where necessary and is fully explained. It covers the different types of IBS from constipation and diarrhoea prevalent to the types of food you should eat (or avoid) along with suggestions on what to do if the steps you’ve taken so far aren’t working.
